10 recommended night views of Tokyo

Place

Tokyo, home to many people from all over the country, is densely packed with many buildings, and bright neons can be seen everywhere in the city at night.

The night views of Tokyo Tower, Tokyo City View, and Tokyo Sky Tree are especially famous, but there are many night spots that are still unknown to people.

There are paid observation decks as well as free observation decks.

Here, I will introduce 10 popular night view spots that I especially recommend.

1 Roppongi Hills Sky Deck

As an open deck building observation deck, it boasts the highest height and the largest site area in Japan.

You will surely be impressed to see the night view of the big city while being hit by the night wind.

Roppongi Hills is 270 meters (238 m above ground) above sea level.

This observatory is divided into two stages.

They are the indoor observation room “Tokyo City View” on the 52 F and the “sky deck” on the roof of the building of Roppongi Hills.

The rooftop serves as an observation deck for open decks, which are one of the few open-air urban observation decks in Japan such as Sunshine 60, Umeda Sky Building and Midland Square in Nagoya.

As I thought, the night view is fresh with the wind.

Because the night view is located in the center of Tokyo, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the urban night view from Tokyo Tower to Shinjuku and fully enjoy the night view.

The Sky Deck can be accessed by paying 500 yen for admission to Tokyo City View.

The view covers popular sightseeing areas such as Odaiba, Shiodome, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Yokohama. You can see the bay area over Tokyo Tower.

Also, astronomical observation events are held regularly, and you can enjoy starry sky viewing in the center of the city.

It is also popular as a viewing spot for fireworks displays in summer. You can enjoy watching the fireworks in the sky.

It is a recommended spot not only for dating but also for sightseeing.

2 KITTE Rooftop Garden

On the 6th floor of “KITTE”, a commercial facility built on the site of the former Tokyo Central Post Office, there is a “KITTE Rooftop Garden” where you can enjoy a panoramic night view of the Tokyo Station area.

It is not possible to view from a particularly high place with 6 floors above ground, but you can enjoy a beautiful night view with a group of Marunouchi buildings surrounding it.

The biggest attraction of the KITTE rooftop garden is the light up of the Tokyo station building below.

The brickwork of Tokyo Station, which is designated as a national important cultural property, is lit up at night and becomes more beautiful.

You can have a really beautiful and romantic time with the view of the Tokyo station building together with the buildings at the back of Tokyo station.

The KITTE rooftop garden is free to use, so if you use it with KITTE restaurants, it will be the best dating course.

The Tokyo station building is illuminated until 21 o’clock every day.

3 Yuuhi no Oka

“Yuuhi no Oka”, a popular night view spot in the Tama area, is located in a corner of the metropolitan Sakuragaoka park in Seiseki-Sakuragaoka.

A night view spot with a balance of beauty, atmosphere, and access.

You can enjoy the night view while lying on the lawn.

It was used as a stage for dramas and anime, and the park was well maintained and beautifully maintained.

The grass grows on the hill and you can sit here and enjoy the night view.

There are benches and an arbor, so you can sit while watching.

From Yuhinooka, you can see the residential area of Seiseki-Sakuragaoka and Fuchu area.

It is different from a group of buildings in the center of Tokyo, and it is characterized by the night view created by the light of the low buildings below.

You can enjoy a wonderful time with your loved ones while looking at the lights in the residential area that make you feel like you are living.

As for the night view, there are various elements such as condo towers, residential areas, roads, rivers, bridges, and railways, and we are polishing the beauty.

4 North Observatory of Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

The center of Tokyo “Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building”.

Actually, not many people know that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is also a night view spot.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building has an observation room on the 45th floor, 202 meters above the ground.

The “Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observatory” where you can overlook the night view from a higher place than the observation room of Tokyo Tower is surprisingly free of charge.

You can enjoy the night view easily.

The observation room is divided into two floors, the South observation room, and the North observation room, and you can enjoy a slightly different view from each observation room.

In the North Observatory, there is a restaurant “Good View Tokyo” where you can enjoy creative continental cuisine while looking at the night view, and it creates a luxurious and wonderful time.

This restaurant has a reasonable price.

You can also use it for anniversaries or dates with important people.

One of the attractions is that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observatory is open until 23 PM and late at night. It’s perfect for a date after work.

5 Skytree View

There is a free observation corner on the 31 floors of Tokyo Solamachi EastYard. Elevators arrive and depart only from the 1st floor on weekends. (On weekdays except for busy seasons, it stops at the 6th floor.)

From here, you can enjoy the night view of Arakawa and Ichikawa city.

Being pushed by the observation deck of Tokyo Skytree, the existence of the night view from here is not well known, but because it is high enough, you can enjoy the powerful night view.

Also, there are few visitors at night, so it is a little-known spot.

6 Ebisu Garden Place Tower Sky Lounge

This complex “Ebisu Garden Place” was created by redeveloping a place that used to be a beer factory of Sapporo Breweries.

The townscape of Garden Place at night is also a beautiful landscape created by a blend of warm light and brick architecture.

There are observation spaces on the 37th and 38th floors of Ebisu Garden Place Tower.

On October 28, 2016, the 37th floor was renovated and SKY LOUNGE (Sky Lounge) was newly built.

SKY LOUNGE is an observation space that you can use for free, and you can see the night view of Tokyo Tower that you could only see from the restaurant.

The viewing area is considerably less illuminated and looks larger than it actually is because of the mirror.

In addition, the existing observation space on the 37th floor has become chic, and the lighting has been reduced, further improving the atmosphere. Adults at Ebisu Garden Place

It has been reborn as an observation space suitable for space, and it is the highest level of free night view spot in Tokyo.

7 Basta Shinjuku Pedestrian Square

The expressway bus terminal “Basta Shinjuku” was completed at Shinjuku South Exit in 2016.

There is a rooftop garden in the adjacent complex “NEWMAN” and it closes at 18 o’clock.

You can enjoy the night view only in winter.

But on the south side of Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, there is a free passage that connects east and west.

It is available 24 hours a day, has a wood deck with adequate indirect lighting and space for a date course.

It is not impressive as a night view, but the atmosphere is very good and many couples gather on weekends.

It is a space I would love to visit when I visit Shinjuku Station.

8 Tokyo Tower Top Deck

The name was changed from “Special Observatory” to “Top Deck (top deck)” on March 3, 2018.

To reach the top deck you need to take a tour called TopDeckTour (Top Deck Tour), which leaves every 15 minutes.

There used to be stairs to the elevator platform leading to the special observatory.

But with the renewal, elevators can be used, and even wheelchairs can approach.

In addition, the elevator is see-through and powerful. (There is a limit to the size of a wheelchair.)

The top deck has a unique design that makes the most of the narrow space with a geometric mirror.

I don’t know about the night view.

It is located in the center of Tokyo, and the night view is impressive enough.

Also, the top deck tour is by advance reservation.

If there is a vacancy on the day, you can buy it at the local ticket booth.

Tripods may be brought into the main observation deck (150 m above ground), but not into the top deck on the top floor (Old Special Observatory 250 meters above ground).

You need to leave your child on the 1st floor or in the elevator going up to the top floor.

The top deck tour also includes access to the large observation deck within the price.

9. Prince Shibakoen

Prince Shibakoen on the premises of the Prince Hotel is connected to Shibakoen and Zojoji, so you can use it freely.

You can enjoy Tokyo Tower in a very calm space.

Shiba Park is famous as a spot to see the illuminated Tokyo Tower, but I recommend The Prince Park Tower Shiba Park Outdoor Garden “Prince Shibakoen”.

It is connected to Shibakoen and Zojoji by a promenade, and you can take a walk freely for 24 hours.

(Although the name suggests that only hotel guests can use the park, it is a park maintained by Prince Hotels under the City Planning Law, and anyone can use it freely.)

The view of Tokyo Tower from the walking trail illuminated by footlights is splendid, there are few people passing by, and it is well maintained as it is a garden of a first-class hotel.

It is very suitable for a date course.

After taking a walk in the garden, the Sky Lounge “Stella Garden” on the 33rd floor of the Prince Park Tower is recommended.

You need to charge 1,030 yen per person, but you can enjoy alcohol while looking at the night view from a very calm space. (If you spend more than 2,000 yen eating and drinking, you can use the hotel parking lot for 2 hours for free.)

10 Toyosu Gururi Park

One of the best scenic parks in Tokyo.

You can see Tokyo Tower and skyscrapers in the bay area with the Rainbow Bridge at the center. It has a nice atmosphere and is perfect for a date.

A park that started sharing on July 7, 2017.

It is the park with the best view in the 23 wards with a visibility of more than 180 degrees centering on the Rainbow Bridge.

Toyosu Gururi Park is a park where you can go around Toyosu Wharf where Toyosu New Market is located.

While sitting on the bench, you can see the Rainbow Bridge over Tokyo Bay, skyscrapers in the bay area and Tokyo Tower, and enjoy the night view different from Odaiba.

The park is covered with greenery and there are athletics and other playground equipment, so not only couples but also children can enjoy it.

It is also recommended to visit Ariake Northern Green Road Park which is about 5 minutes on foot from here via Fujimi Bridge.

Although the visibility becomes narrow, the atmosphere becomes better.

It is a bit far from the market of the nearest station, Yurikamome, so it is recommended to access by car. A parking lot (400 Yen/H) adjacent to the park is available 24 hours a day.
